About the project

FalaTrace is a set of open-source Linux tools that records the calls you authorize, transcribes them locally by default (Whisper.cpp and Ollama) and produces summaries in which every decision points to the segment, timestamp and SHA-256 hash of the original recording. Approximate or uncertain references are flagged for review.

When an agent needs context — Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI — it queries the history through the CLI or a local MCP server and receives only bounded excerpts, labeled as untrusted data and limited to the permissions granted per recording. FalaTrace Studio, a Qt/QML desktop app, brings the library, video, transcript, speaker review, summary and settings together in one place.

Highlights

  • Traceable summaries: every item cites the segment, timestamp and SHA-256 of the original recording.
  • Local by default with Whisper.cpp and Ollama; OpenAI and Gemini only when you configure them.
  • Context for agents through the CLI and a local MCP server, with per-recording grants, a persistent budget and revocation.
  • Opt-in automatic call detection for Slack, Zoom, Teams and browsers such as Chromium and Firefox.
  • Qt/QML Studio with a first-run assistant, undoable review and export to JSON, Markdown, SRT and WebVTT.
  • 931 offline tests with synthetic media, plus Studio journeys rendered in CI.
