A mobile-first PWA for restaurant couriers: it logs deliveries, payments and tips, reads the order ticket from a photo with AI, plans the route and works out what to pay or collect at the end of the day — even offline.

About the project
DelExpress was built so a restaurant courier can settle the shift without a spreadsheet. Each delivery records the payment method — cash, card, already paid or split — and the tip, in cash or on card, independently. At the end of the day, the settlement shows how much cash should be left in hand and whether the courier pays or collects from the restaurant, with the rule covered by tests.
A photo of the ticket fills in the order number, address, amount and time: a multimodal model (Gemini, falling back to OpenAI) returns JSON and leaves a field empty rather than guess, and the courier reviews it before saving. The route opens in Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps, ordered by the Google Routes API with a local 2-opt fallback, on an interactive Leaflet and OpenStreetMap map. Data stays on the device, in IndexedDB, and the app installs as a PWA.
